The bear trail
3 days, 2 night
During this 3-day adventure you will experience outdoor life and hopefully a glimpse of wildlife in the beautiful Swedish wilderness of Jämtland-Härjedalen.
Located about 3.5 hours drive from Falun and 2.5 hours from the town of Mora, you will spend your f irst night at your basecamp in a fully equipped glamping tent. Leave your worries and stress behind and relax at our campsite surrounded by Swedish nature. The camp is situated on Dalsvallen, an old forest workers settlement at the south entrance of Sonfjället National Park.
You’ll boil your own water to make coffee, prepare your own dinner over a campfire or light the wood stove to heat your tent on colder days. The brave among you can take a dip in the ice cold pond of mountain water after a hot sauna visit. All of this in a beautiful location, right in the heart of Swedish nature, where it’s not uncommon that reindeer walk across the campsite!
The next day, the adventure really begins. Together with an experienced outdoor guide, you will hike into the National Park. Not only is this one of the oldest National Parks in Sweden, but it is also believed to be the area with the highest bear population in the country, making it an excellent location for our trekking and hopefully a glimpse of bears or their tracks!
You spend the night in a cosy forest cabin, deep in the woods of the national park. On cold nights you heat the cabin with a cosy wood stove. The next day you wake up early to continue your hike through the primeval forest of Sonfjället. Around midday you will be back at camp to continue your holiday.
